Utility and construction workers, plumbers and others who labor under the ground to repair gas lines or sewer pipes or run electrical wiring or just to access and repair equipment have a tough, dirty and dangerous job. Fortunately, there are aluminum trench boxes and shields which can be used to protect them. These are important. Every year, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, about 70 workers die and another 1,000 are injured because of trench cave-ins. In 95 percent of those incidents, the workers were not properly protected by trench boxes.
Trench Shoring Boxes has Kundel aluminum shoring boxes for sale, the highest quality available. You want the best deals, but that doesn’t mean you want the cheapest, lowest quality equipment. Equipment which endangers your employees and the job are the most expensive in the long run, and therefore the worst deals. Kundel’s are P. E. certified and compliant with all standards and regulations set by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Kundel products result from years of experience. They’re proven to both protect workers and enhance production.
What Separates Kundel from the Rest
Unlike the competition, Kundel equipment have continuous solid weld, internal pounding members and a continuous knife edge.
Aluminum trench shields are lighter than those made of steel, and so are appropriate for smaller jobs. The Kundel Safeguard TuffGuy are good for spot repair with a 5′-21′ depth. The boxes are modular panel in design and come with full-length pinless steel vertical ends patented by Kundel. Accessories available include: spreaders, screw struts, polyester springs, hydraulic struts and spreader adjusters. The side walls are 2 1/2′ double.
We also carry the Kundel V-Panel line for spot repair. They are good for depths 9′-20′. The side walls are 2 1/2′ vertical. V-Panel boxes are easy to carry and move around a job site. Variable width panels at each end protect your workers. The panels have a knife edge at the bottom and on top a steel tamping block. Accessories include: water systems, hydraulic adjusters, individual v-panels and adjustable steel spreader beams.
Additional Aluminum Trench Boxes and Systems
The Kundel Shorelite Lite may meet your underground safety needs better. That series is also good for spot repairs. It protects workers from 5′ to 14′ in depth. The side walls are 2 1/2′ single. This line is very lightweight. One box can easily be handled by two men. You can make a box with 2, 3 or 4 sides for a site to 12′ in depth and 7′ in length. Because it’s small and light, it can be hauled with a pickup truck. It’s for two men to assemble this line and install it without the need of a tractor backhoe.
Trench Shoring Boxes always offers deals. We carry both new and used aluminum equipment, or you can rent to own.
